Over the years, decades even, our beloved friend Mephi, my bantering mate,
often remined me that it was time for the annual posting of the Heintje
Double album. So in his memory I do so now.
For those who are new or just do not know, Heintje was a young Dutch boy
with a wonderful voice. Many of the songs were sung by him in a number of
films he made.
I had the pleasure of meeting Heintje many moons ago when he was in his
50s.
On the first dics he sings In his native Dutch, apart from track 19 when he
sings in English. One disc 2 he sings mostly in German, a language akin to
Dutch.
A number of the songs are very poignant, but if you dont speak Dutch then
just take it from me, I have been brought to tears many times by some of
them.
