This message is intended for those who know what group I'm referring to.
The cafe was "closed down" by a "critic" (not a health inspector, but just a
critic) in May and still has the packaged meals in the fridge, though they
are useless without the "missing ingredients".
There was one "recipe" posted not long ago that did not require secret
ingredient to "make the dish".
I wonder if the "chef" or "chefs" are aware of the fact that with their
current methods, they have sadly succeeded in ways the talentless and
heartless critics never could. They have abandoned the concept of sharing
that existed over many years and returned the art of "recipe trading" to one
of cloak & dagger secrecy. Some have become so secretive because there were
more critics than happy customers, but that's no reason to give up. How
many of us always go out of our way to thank the chef after a good meal?
Not many. I think it is human nature. Some are just too shy.
Some of us (may of us) are starving or are left to eat often flavorless
meals (no offense intended to the cooks in this bistro), lately nothing but
leftovers from long ago.
If we, who are not as fortunate and gifted as the chefs, wish to sample
their cuisine, since the building that housed the old cafe is now baren
(except, as I said, for those refridgerated meals), could they not now share
the secret ingredients in this bistro or some similar old deli or bakery?
Would their method of keeping their freshes ideas be compromised by
revealing the secret ingredient of their older recipes?
Please don't ignore this message. Please show some compassion and at leat
communicate in the vocabulary I have used here. Even if you are certain the
methods you've adopted are 100% necessary, at least you can be chritable
enough to reply in a way that shows you care about those of us who are still
behind the velvet rope.
