I really never understood the bad rap Unison 2.2 got.

I been using it since it came out and only has a bug when the database
files for each newsgroup gets large (ober 2 gig).

Deleteing the files in
~/Library/Containers/com.panic.Unison2/Data/Library/Application
Support/com.panic.Unison2/name.of.news.server/*db when that happens
always fixes it.

I;m on 10.11.6 osx.

The only other client i use for binaries is from tweaknews, not sure if
you need a subscrtion to get it but its called usenetwire. for what it
indexes it brain dead simple, but it doesn't index everything and has a
problem with some nzb files using the cloaked multi-group ones. it
always screws up the rar files, mostly overwrting them making it
useless.

The same nzb into Unison will download the files correctly but you
still have to screw around with locating one of the par2 files and use
something like MacPar deluxe witch will rename correctly the rar files
and put everything together.

So bouncing between unison and usenetwire and having access to 2 or 3
other nzb sites cover all the bases and gets everything out there i am
looking for, without fail.

too much work, i agree but its not going to get easier from this point on.
