Have very good experience of WD disks, have been using them in various
sizes since the "1.6GB days", up to now, using several WD 2T drives.
Used some some Seagates and Maxtor, both on private and professionall
hardware, but there have been some crashed using some of them over the
last 20 years... As i can recollect now, theres has only been one WD
disk that crashed for me over the last 15 years or so...
Actually the machines that this is sent from contains one WD120G and
one WD160G and has been running more or less daily since 2003..... :)
Lately there have been some occasional [scary] noice from one of them
indicating that there might be some problems up ahead, but after about
8 years of daily use that would maybe not be a big supprise... :)
This is not an exact sciene as there are a lot of factors to consider
as, technology, production batches etc, but FWIW I'm sticking to WD so
far !.
The BIG only problem I have experienced is that they tend to have zero
free space after a while..... ;)
Keep up the good work, it's really appreciated !!!!
