I dump all the models files into a directory with her name. I then use
the .bat files that I have put into the attached zip file.to let the
computer do all the work of sorting into the proper sub folders.
ALL THE CREDIT GOES TO THE ORIGINAL MAKER OF THE FILES WHO POSTED THEM
HERE LONG AGO.
I wrote the instructions for you in the read me files also included but
I will include them here too;
STEP 1: Create a directory for an SC model of your choice. Create the
new directory and name it with the models name ( for example the
model you want to download from the newsgroup is Mellie D )
STEP 2: Move all the "Make Dirs" and "Move Files" into the new folder
Mellie D.
STEP 3: Use Windows Explorer to open "Make Dirs (001-099).bat" (note
using picture viewing programs to run the files does not seem to work,
so always use Windows Explorer) A seperate DOS window will open and the
"Make Dirs (001-099).bat" will create a folder named "001-099" and then
automatically create all the sub-folders (i.e folder "001", "002", etc)
Once all the sub folders have been automatically created the DOS window
will close and then you can open the next file "Make Dirs (100-199)".
STEP 4: Using your newsreader program, select all of the model's (in
this case Mellie D) files from the groups and download them into the
Mellie D folder. Do not download them into the sub files. The next
step will do that for you.
STEP 5: Now that you have downloaded all of Mellie D's files into the
Mellie D folder, it is time to let the "Move Files" do all the work.
Using windows Explorer open the Mellie D folder and locate the "Move
Files (001-099).bat" file and open it. Automatically a DOS window will
open and begin to move all of the sets 1 thru 99 into their proper
folders.
STEP 6: Repeat step 5 for each of the other "Move Files"
