I was there, and I have also seen first hand just how toxic JB can be to
a good newsgroup. Most of the groups I used to enjoy visiting have now
curled up and died, and in all cases so far it has been a direct result
of his ego mania. Whether this group is also a JB victim or not, I can't
say for sure. But based on history I would say its entirely likely.
It's also a shame for the sites. Hugh was essentially an advertising
campaign here for SC. Without his posts I wouldn't have become aware of
the models there. Those of us that are impatient enough will have signed
up to SC just for immediate updates.
Now that Hugh isn't posting, that free advertising is gone.
