I have had a look at what I have collected. I downloaded nearly all
of them in 2009 over the space of two weeks, so that may have been
your flood of them then. There are none that meet the R4X standatd
you are looking for.
There are several at 128kbps in stereo (and none better than that),
but a lot of them are 64kbps and some are 32kbps mono at 22KHz sample
rate rather than the usual 44KHz.
I think you may need to manage your daughters' expectations, because I
suspect that there won't be many copies around at the quality you are
hoping to find. I could put a 32kbps mono episode through an editing
program and deliver you 320Kbps stereo, but you would still only have
the sound quality of the original. Similarly it is possible to
transcribe a 78rpm shellac platter to CD, but it would still sound
like the quality of the original 78. It is possible to improve sound
by removing things (clicks and hisses, for instance) but it is not
possible to add things that are not there in the original.
ISRTA is a slice of history, and it is the content that needs to be
appreciated, not the hifi quality (or lack of it). I wish you luck in
finding what you want, but having checked I know that I won't be able
to help.
