I wasn't too keen on Matt Smith either, although there was some
improvement when Jenna Coleman replaced that godawful Gillan Girl. I
can't for the life of me see Capaldi as The Doctor, it will always be
"Capaldi as The Doctor".
When Smith stopped, I had hoped that they would make a really radical
change, and introduce a female Doctor. I'd have loved to see Sue Perkins
in that role. But alas, it was not to be.
