IMHO:
Audacity, is an impressive piece of software.
I,ve put some of my old records onto computer
and cleaned them up with it...
just wish I still had the 78s to process. :-(

another nice tool, Cortana's music recognation
in Windows 10.
found some nice music from movies & TV shows
using that feature to identify unfamiliar tunes
( some smartphone apps do that as well, but I use a dumb phone..)
