This album is a seamless hybrid of studio & live recording of a collaboration between two of the most interesting and inspired groups working in atmospheric music today. The easiest comparison would be to DEAD CAN DANCE circa "Into The Labyrinth", combining eerie atmospheric voices & floating haunted sounds with relentless ethnic rhythms creating a trance-like effect, a journey through spirit-peopled Arabian nights. The way the sounds and voices weave gently against and between each other makes it sound curiously like LULL at their most passive, albeit a gentler, more seductive, less alienating sound. The journey through the varying sections of this ongoing series of soundscapes is a smooth one, like travelling fast over a long distance, noticing small but significant changes in the panorama, where rambling rural areas give way to evidence of urban life, where rocky or barren places become flat and verdant. It's a progression through someone else's dreams; a journey through territories terraformed by the combined imagination of six people - a group of artists who paint not so much with sound as with suggestion and imagery stimulated BY sound. The rhythm of track #9 is overdriven, surrounded by distorted noise, but keeps the rich floatation-tank atmosphere before plunging back into the haunted drone-laced substrata. Although there are no actual tracks listed, the album spans over 74 minutes and is divided into 10 connected slices. Similarly the collaborative efforts of the two groups work flawlessly together to create an album which might be described as symbiosis in action. Individually they're both impressive creators of an ambient mysticism which envelops and seduces the listener - combined they are a Power, a force of Ethno-Ambient wonderment.
