biography of skulker
Unofficially, Skulker began at the end of 1995, when four friends (Ange,
Batti, Annette and Greer) entered their high school talent quest with a
cover version of Veruca Salt's 'Victrola'. Not yet having a name for their
band, the four girls hastily chose 'Skulker' from the Emily Bronte novel
'Wuthering Heights' which they were studying at the time. Skulker was a
dog. It was hung from a tree after biting the heroine, Cathy.
They did not win!
Unperturbed, the following year the four friends entered another
competition, Youthrock- a state-wide high school band competition held
annually.
They did not win!
After finishing school in 1996, rather than throwing in the towel (or guitars!)
Ange, Batti, Annette and Greer decided to continue their musical pursuits
with the recording of their first demo in January,1997. Armed only with a
demo tape, four sparkly skirts and a desire to rock, the girls entered the
Ryde Council / Macquarie University Battle of the bands, in April 1997.
They won! Skulker was born!
Their debut EP "Morgan To The Moon" was recorded in September 1997
and was released independently in March 1998, followed soon after by the
single Bittersweet, which also marked the signing of Skulker to the
Chatterbox/Phantom label. The release of "Bittersweet" in September
1998, coincided with the girls first national tour of Australia with Aussie
rockers The Screaming Jets, followed by a national tour in 1999 with
Monster Magnet from the US (cut short by an angry appendix in Greer's
tummy).
The girls released their debut album Too Fat For Tahiti on February 7
2000.

The Scene!
aAF was created in Jan 2001 to fill a void left in the scene
by groups who would refuse to release anything but current
year music.Well since that time we have been rocking the
scene with classic rock rips.We have made classic music
mainstream in the scene and have been on top in that area as
the number one group in classic rips. We finished 2001 with
3800 rips.As we moved forward in 2002 we found we were also
releasing alot of quality 2k2 rips and saw that we were competing
in that area.In 2002 we finished with over 5000 rips.In 2003 we
plan to move forward and continue to release "THE NEW STUFF" and
strive to be on top in 2k3 rips.We will also continue to remain
on top like we have for 2 years in the classic rock scene.
It's not the Year that Matters it's the Music
