 Release Notes:

The album starts on the excellent title track, Grown Up and Blow Away, a perfect
slice of delicate female vocal, with just the right amount of edge. It's truly a
beautiful song. Sad, then, that the rest of the album doesn't quite live up to
 the opening track.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great album, with more than one great track - but
the lead track shines the brightest, and draws you in to some other great songs.

If you've heard any of Metric's later work, you'll be surprised at how different
the sound is - the soft, nostalgic chimes of the vocals on the earlier work is
different to the more confident, rockier aspects of later album Live it Out, for
instance. Whilst the debut album is anything but soppy, it's certainly set at a
 different pace.

I must confess, I've only recently discovered Metric (courtesy of a the track
'Handshakes' featured on Xbox 360 title 'Test Drive Unlimited'), but I'm glad I
found them - this is a delicate shining gem of an album. Grow Up and Blow Away
 deserves to be a classic.
