No, not anal at all. It is common sense to have a well structured
filing and storage system.
Maybe one of the reasons why we all differ in the way we present files
to the groups is how we file and store those files on our own systems
for personal use.
track number
disk number
track artist - track title
album name
album artist
year
genre
album cover
Those are my criteria that suit me and my player for cataloguing and
searching. Album artist is tagged Various Artists on multi artist
albums. I don't even need track numbers in the file name as the player
sorts that from the tags (oooooo, wtf I hear you say :-))
I don't mind re-tagging or tagging from scratch if files come a bit
scant on info, a search of the internet usually brings up the
information required. I do give up though when only song titles are
presented, for all any one knows it could be my wife singing them, so
they get binned.
I started ripping an album today then got waylaid, when I post it I
will see if I get my knuckles rapped. lol
