'scuse the top post... but this thread is loooooong :)
NO PROBLEM my friend... not at all... but it was driving me absolutely bonkers!
Funny.. I've always been accused of being overly anal re: weekly full system
backups (Acronis) but when installing new, untested software it saves my arse
more times than I can count. Also, I'm old enough to know that newer is not
always better. Anyway.. for me, should I encounter some crap software... it's a
button push and in 6-9 minutes my entire system is back were it was... no worse
for the wear.
So... HAPPY to hear you got it all figured out. I can now grab what's left of
my sanity. :(
btw and fyi: I'm sure you've figured out that two of my favorite gripes is/are
crappy/lazy file naming and that damned FreeFormat crap (which so far no one has
shown that they have a clue as to what it is and/or how it's meant to be used...
which is crap anyway)..
No doubt I'll piss off Chapel (and Chapel 'ol buddy, if yer readin' this... no
personal offense intended... you just happened to post a good example)... but
the attached screen cap is an excellent example of what I was ranting about in
regards to incomplete and/or overly simplified file names. We have a "Jazzy"
poster running amuck that posts a plethora of "VA" albums in that "2tag" file
name format... and you have no clue as to who is performing, etc, etc,
Maybe I AM anal... but I "try" (I ain't perfect) to make sure that when I post
such a VA album (as many of my recent and upcoming posts are) that the "Artist"
is part of the file name (back to my "4tag" format) AND that the proper artist
is in the "album artist" interior tag (which many never do)... Okay.. so I'm
anal.
anyway... in the attached sample... if those files were "stand alone" you'd have
no idea who sang and the PARs could easily belong to another post by the same
artist (since album name is not included). Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh !!
Outta here.
