"Repelen - The Last Tango" conveys more than a hint of this nonchalance, of self-reliance and skilful cooperation. Borders blur, the typical sweeping soundscapes, with or without significant sequencer use, meet jazz elements (especially when KAGERMANN and EBERT are involved), CLUSTER is presented with a skilful homage ("Clusterphonie") and with the "Latin Grooves", one of the Highlights of the album, is also the eponymous tango, at least through the back door, entering the action, while guitarist RAUGHI EBERT shows charming presence.
To make it never too cozy, B, K & S with dark clouds of sound create a seething underground, through which the "City Lights" must first break their course. The last Tango in Repelen then belongs to EBERT & KAGERMANN, almost unplugged, a bit of tonal butter is only touched in the background.
