As early as the mid-1960s, the young Harald Nies was fascinated by all the sounds produced by electric guitars, drums and organs. When he felt that making music was becoming more and more important to him, he bought his first electric guitar, which he initially amplified over an old tube radio. Already at 15, he founded his band "Guul" at school, which, influenced by Krautrockbands like Eloy, Nektar, Jane or Kraan, put on their first program and started rocking.
In the spring of 2002, he happened to meet his old friend Klaus COSMIC HOFFMANN-Hoock (MIND OVER MATTER) again, whom he knew from the wild 70's "Krautrockzeiten" as a 'space guitarist' and felt that longer musical journeys through the universe were still part of everyday life included. Through joint, spontaneous jam sessions, Harald Nies gradually rediscovered his old love for the guitar as well as for guitar effects and their often mysterious sounds in the following months. Strongly inspired by this, he produced his new CD 'Space is everywhere', where he knows how to combine computer-generated electronic spacemusic with his fiery rock guitar into a living organic unity. Shortly thereafter, his latest production "Restart from Sedna" appeared. A 7-minute short version of the title track will be released in June on the new Schallwendesampler, "Schallplatte 7". In 2009-2011, three new albums by Harald Nies will be released on MellowJet Records. On the 30th of December 2010 Harald played live for the first time as "himself" in the Zeiss Planetarium Bochum.
