If you are still looking, the Mac tool kit you probably want is xACT.
It understands various arcana such as Monkey’s Audio, shntool and other
Unix audio tools that are really useful but really should stay hidden from
non-techie music makers and music lovers.And makes it all simple.
My production chums say it is essential for making sense of some of the stuff
from “amateurs” – mainly corporate podcasts from marketing departments
– which hits the intake!
In the context of this group, it takes only a couple of minutes to split a
whole album in one ape file into individual tracks for iTunes.
