ID tags are designed for pop music, not classical.
For pop music, the info of interest is almost always artist, then song
name. So completing the tag with artist name in the Artist slot and
title in the Title field makes sense.
For classical nusic, the info of greatest importance is almost always
the Composer, then the song name. For that to show up when the piece
of music is playing, one needs to enter the Composer name into the
Artist field.
Most people don't do it that way and instead but verbose info into the
Artist slot, so the info when playing looks something like
Sir Neville Marriner- Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Symp
(truncated or scrolling)
I redo the tags on my MP3s putting the composer's name as the Artist.
Then the info looks like
Mozart, Symphony 40 - I. Molto Allegro
Much more useful IMO.
Just my preference.
