Unfortunately, Slaughter were the show closers of the Hair Metal Holiday festival.
Being exposed to this obnoxious 5th generation hair band after having been blown away by KIX was sheer torture.
However, I hung in there in order to capture every Hair Metal Holiday performance.
In my opinion, KIX should have closed the festival with a 90-120 minute set.
The entire Slaughter presentation came across as contrived and pretentious.
You may recall that Milli Vanilli and Slaughter were once rivals on Dial MTV!
Mark Slaughter's voice is shot to hell!
This clown sounds like Vince Neil Jr.
This would explain why these two "vocalists" share the same backing band.
Cliched, trite, songs like "Spend My Life" and "Real Love" sound like they could be background music for Fox's extremely dated, teen drama, Beverly Hills, 90210.
The nearly TEN minute version of "Fly To The Angels" reminded me of Aretha Franklin's recent rendition of the National Anthem. Holy shit! Overkill!
"Fly To The Angels" was dedicated to Slaughter's "buddy" "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. I highly doubt the guys in Pantera were ever friends with the posers in Slaughter!
Another comical moment was when Mark screamed "Dallas, you want some OLD SHIT?" in a southern accent. Excuse me, BUT, wasn't the most recent song in the setlist from 1992?!? Isn't it all OLD SHIT by this point?!?!
This is a message for the Slaughter organization...
"Money is all that you desire. Why don't you pack it in, and retire?"
I missed the first few seconds of Eddie Trunk's introduction.
I had run out of gas after over 8 hours at the Bomb Factory.
Trunk's Slaughter introduction caught me off guard.
I did tape the ENTIRE Hair Metal Holiday 2016 festival, 9 bands in total.
Over 6 hours of crunchy riffs, banshee screams, and the moans of cougars in heat!
The sound quality varies.
I will release all of my Hair Metal Holiday master recordings as time allows.
All you need is just a little patience...
