Excellent audience recording!
Minimal crowd noise.
This is one of my BEST captures!!

Thank you to techtuts for teaching me how to master my own recordings.
Your guidance and patience is tremendously appreciated!
Custom Ozone template for this recording provided by techtuts.

In October, it was announced that one of my favorite bands, TESLA would be performing 105 miles from my home, at the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma on February 25, 2017. Since there was no Dallas/Fort Worth show announced, I talked my friend Bubba into making the trek to Oklahoma with me. This was our third TESLA show together and my sixth overall since 2004. I absolutely love this band!!

I bought our concert tickets the moment they went on sale.
Judging by the seat map on Ticketmaster, I pounced on seats in SEC 203 ROW A.
This section was where the soundboard is located.
Unfortunately, row A of SEC 203 turned out to be the last row on the floor, when I thought it would be the first row of the front balcony.
Poor planning on my part. Lesson learned.

Bubba has serious neck/spinal issues (multiple surgeries) and isn't able to stand for extended periods. First row balcony seats would have been ideal for Bubba and taping.
Bubba was wearing his neck brace, so we were able to persuade an usher to move us to SEC 306 which was an elevated area with no one sitting directly front of us.
This paid off both visually and sonically as we were now directly in front of the left speaker stack with no obstructions. We had a perfect view of the stage.
If we had remained in SEC 203 ROW A, we would have been watching the show through other people's cell phone screens, and capturing unwanted crowd noise.
Cell phone filmers are extremely inconsiderate! Earth to the selfish cellphone "filmers" out there, no one watches that crap!!!

I went into the TESLA show expecting deep cuts from Mechanical Resonance to be the centerpiece, as the band is touring behind their new "Mechanical Resonance Live" album. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The Durant show was your typical no-frills greatest hits show, featuring TESLA's set of tired classic hard rock radio staples.
I could only imagine how demoralizing performing these stale, decades old, songs is to TESLA at this point. The highlight of the show was "Save That Goodness", simply because I haven't heard that tune one million times! The acoustic set was also thoroughly enjoyable. I was stunned that people were leaving their seats during the unplugged segment. The historical imagery displayed during the show on the 3 LED screens behind the stage was a nice enhancement, but didn't make up for the uninspired setlist. I fondly recall the spontaneity and deep cuts featured on the 2007-2009 Real To Reel and Forever More tours!!
What the hell prompted the move to static setlists in the TESLA camp?

There was no opening band.
TESLA went on around 8:20PM.
I feel bad for the fans who arrived at 9:00PM, expecting to skip the support band and catch the entire TESLA show.
I appreciate the fact that the show was over by 10PM, as we had a 2 hour drive home!

Taping information: I stood for TESLA's entire performance. I had my CA-11 mics mounted on a fedora hat above my left and right ears.
Bubba sat for the entire show, and had the CA-14s mounted on his collar.
Bubba had to get up on ocassion to let people pass by.
We were at the end of the aisle. As a result, you may hear phasing from time to time.
I will likely share the Bubba source when time allows.

If anyone would like to attempt to matrix both sources, please let me know!
I'm willing to share the untouched 24/96 master recordings or remastered RX4 versions for such a project.

Attention tapers: SEC 305 appears to be the best section for stack taping at Choctaw's Grand Theater.
We were openly taping in front of staff, and were given no grief!

I dedicate this recording to Steve Hagar, the most prolific Tesla taper in the universe!

If you want the 24/96 versions of my recent masters, grab them from the following newsgroups:

alt.binaries.sounds.lossless.24bit, alt.binaries.sounds.flac, or alt.binaries.sounds.lossless.bootlegs

I have learned there is little demand for high resolution audience recordings on the torrent scene.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I'm new to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and am eager to meet new friends who would be interested in attending (and taping) rock shows together.

If you'd like to join the taping community, please let me know...
Going to concerts with friends is MUCH MORE FUN!

I'm a fulltime student at the moment.
I'm looking for an enjoyable part time job in Arlington to make a few extra bucks on the side.

URGENT: I am interested in taping the Guns N' Roses show at the Alamodome in San Antonio on September 8, 2017.
However, I am NOT interested in spending $300 to see Guns N' Roses AGAIN!
If you have an extra ticket to spare, please keep me in mind. Thank you!!

REQ: An uncompressed capture of the Bad Company Dallas, TX 2016-09-08 AXS TV broadcast.

REQ: Any uncirculated Guns N' Roses audio/video from the SLASH ERA in lossless format.
Does anyone have a recording of the Guns N' Roses performance at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas
on September 4, 1992? If so, please share!

REQ: Any uncirculated Journey/Steve Perry lossless audio/video.

I plan to upload this recording to DIME, The Trader's Den, and Usenet (a.b.sounds.lossless, a.b.sounds.flac, a.b.sounds.lossless.bootlegs).
