Not off-topic at all.
My flac files are stored on a Macbook Air, and I play them on
Audirvana. I use Airfoil to send them, via AirPlay, to an Airport
Express that's connected with a short optical cable to an Optoma
Nuforce DDA120 with old but excellent Tannoy 609 speakers attached.

I would never use Bluetooth to send music to my system, as it's lossy.
The main thing is to play your files on a decent software player - not
the soundcard in your laptop. If you're using Windows, JRiver looks
good. I like Audirvana because it bypasses my laptop's built-in
soundcard and processes the flac files directly, so that they're
bit-perfect. I also use Dirac room-correcting software, which I can
strongly recommend.
