There is an application that I have used called ZAR - Zero
Assumption
Recovery - with great success. It has worked on a
formatted drive and a
crashed disk, recovering well over 90% of my data even on
the crashed
disk. There is a demo version available that will allow
you to test its
performance on up to 4 folders. If your other apps don't
work you might
want to give it a try.
