Against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement came a number of
books and movies attempting to either provide a warning of the dangers
or a wake up call to the reality of not paying attention to the
revolutionary response of the radical black population.  Such was life
in the 1960's and 1970's when police regularly shot black men without
any reproach and black activists attempted to bring this and other
social concerns to the publics eye.

Fortunately in 2016 all that is behind us.
