I lack some experience posting large files and I would like to make it
easy and cross compatible for everyone.
I have Winzip, Winrar and HJsplit available.
I splitted a big movie recently using Winzip (.z01) and MAC users
complained that they can't open those files.
I suspect that HJsplit files are also a problem for MAC users,
certainly for Linux users.
I am not sure about Winrar, I am now experimenting with it, it creates
xxx.part001 files, I just don't know if people using Winzip or MAC can
open those without problems.
I am also not sure if it is best to post the pictures, as spare files
or .rar them and post them as a single .rar file.
Any input on this?
At the moment I just choose the big .avi file and let my newsreader
(Usenet Explorer) to post it whatever way it chooses to. For what I
read at the other group someone may have been confused over that
posting.
