I am using an ancient version of Thumbsplus. It offers varying
qualities during resizing and allows a "Batch Convert" which will
resize all selected files in a folder. Using the highest quality
format I find no noticeable difference in the picture quality or
color.
Let me post an example of a large reduction for you to consider in the
next few hours.
I don't really have the bandwidth to post the proggy. You may want a
newer version, anyway. I doubt the resizing qualities / abilities have
gone for the worse? It's not freeware...so you'll need to " register"
your version? ;-P
