Some people are merely ignorant, a condition that can be remedied by
curiosity and diligence.
Others think they know everything and are positively stupid, for which
there is no cure.
And then there are those who behind the scenes promote what they profess to
abhor and fight against, like a firefighter-arsonist, as a form of job
security. They certainly know and yet have done nothing about it. (Oh,
except for Elliot Spitzer and Usenet.com, but you see what happens when
some jerk trips over their honeypots.)
