 That single 3" needs fewer men and has a higher rate of fire. That makes the
 change likely to be air defence where the dual 5" more likely is surface
 warfare. I do know that a lot of those dual 5" were used as AA back in WW
 II, but today the rapid fire from a newer gus is preferred.
