Scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
in partnership with Boeing, have pinpointed the aircraft carrier USS
Independence, located nearly a half mile beneath the Pacific Ocean off
the California coast. Sonar images revealed the condition of the
purposely sunk ship.
