Aug 1941 Ukraine-German platoon under attack by soviet infantry in
trucks-84 enemy killed, many wounded-soviets had opportunity to save
some wounded but left them in order to save their remaining trucks. In
many cases when soviets were retreating from a position they would
send truck-mounted infantry against the Germans to gain time. It was
always very costly in troops and material but to the Russians it
served their purpose.
