Thanks for taking on this problem set from LS Magazine. I have the same
videos failing n@@dles.
If memory serves, I had only two videos from this set from usenet. So I
grabbed an archive from p2p which was the DarK-ElF release. Nine passed
n@@dles, nine failed. I went for the Angelripper package but it was the same
archive repackaged. More recently I took the Eleutherios archive only to
find again the same files released by DarK-ElF recycled.
The two files I already had from usenet did match n@@dles and a third file
sent by a friend matched also bringing my bad video count from nine down to
six. That's where I sit at the present - same as you.
A trick I employ to tell where two videos diverge is to split them into 1
second chunks with MaxSplitter, then make a 0 block par2 file of the one set
of chunks and take the par2 file to the other set of chunks and run it.
Whichever number chunk fails indicates how many seconds into the video the
discrepancy occurs.
If a few video bytes get messed up, it causes bad pixelation that persists
until the next key frame because of the way video is encoded. An equivalent
hiccup in the audio bytes would probably put an inaudible set of overtones in
the sound for a millisecond or so.
I ran this check on the three videos pairs I have in common that don't match
one another. Here are my results.

It's safe to say n@@dles is the better file.

I'd tend to favor the copies that pass n@@dles myself. Wouldn't it be great
if someone had copies of the other six questionable videos from the pre-bust
website and could post them?
