Joanna Lumley as Purdy.
I've read the first couple episodes were shot with Patrick MacNee's
real life wife but she didn't want to get tied to a series and only
agreed to get the series production underway. I've never managed to
find those episodes.
The search turned up Honor Blackman who left after a while to be Pussy
Galore in the Bond film 'Goldfinger' and Diana Rigg took over the
spot. She left to be Mrs. Bond in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'
and Linda Thorson took over. Thorson had a bit part in in that film as
it turns out.
After a hiatus, Joanna Lumley filled the spot as they moved the story
to Canada and brought in a younger male character to do the stunts.
