If the folders' Properties report is accurate, I have about 69,900
vintage pic files, but many are low quality (for reference use) and
several thousand are 'awaiting disposition' and may be deleted as poor
duplicates, etc. Many are intention dupes as well, such as copies being
filed under multiple names when more than one model appears in a set.

What makes you think that I do?? :-)
Seriously, I rely a lot on extending filenames so that file searches
automatically pull associations together. This calls for a reliable file
search routine, and in later Windows versions the file search accessory
will fail to always find all the files it ought to find. My second major
tool is a memory-jogger text file containing those file association
names matched with keywords or notes about models, settings, etc.
