I learned a bit better about that radio. It was not by Toshiba. It was
American-made by a company called Regency and they had cut a deal with
Texas Instruments to use TI's new germanium transistor products. It's said
that they were pushing the edges of the transistors' performance to get a
practical radio with them but it was a success. Anyway, it was one of the
really nice-looking little radios.
