As you are using VirginMedia's NNTP service, it may well be that that
is filtering out the binary posts.
Your only option is to find another NNTP service. I connect to the
Internet with VirginMedia but use EasyNews for NNTP. The bad news is
that you'll probably have to pay a bit for the service, but they
aren't that bad these days. I would think you can find a good server
that's cheaper than EasyNews, not that they are bad.
Cheaper usually has less retention. The good news is that most have
enough for you to catch up.
OTOH, the last proper binary non-spam original post was mine on the
12th... You missed some reposts and a lot of spam.
