Although I do use AV/anti-malware, I no longer trust them to keep me
safe. Threats are becoming more dangerous and sneaky. I use
vitalization and snapshots to help keep me clean.
I do not use my startup system to access the internet, I use a vitual
machine. I snapshot my VM before accessing internet. If I spot
anything vaguely suspicious I roll back to the snapshot.
You can do this for free, just download VMWare player. Hyper-V is also
available for newer windows versions. There is also VirtualBox
, which is also free and easy to use.
