Begining to understand that.
I tried to be vocal and encourage people to post. I do not know if it
had any affect, I even posted a dropbox link with the tools I use, to
encourage secure SSL posting using stunnel. If we lose posters, we
lose the group, and the entire usenet. I don't just lurk here but
follow loads of txt groups with other interests (different ID(s) ).
I'm on a 'staycation' at the moment, hense the volume of posts, but
mostly I use a virtual machine, running on my server and stack it up,
hence posts can be running for days/weeks without my intervention. My
ISP seems to drop high rate uploads, so I'm stuck at ~30-40KB/s for
reliable sends. Powerpost helps me keep the to a rate my ISP finds
acceptable.
A recent 'silence' from me was because my usenet provider was
negligent and let it's SSL cert expire. stunnel noticed this and
refused connections (a good thing IMO).
As for feedback, in this group, RickO seems to be the most vocal, I
appreciate that. Maybye he has dropped the other groups you mention.
People, please talk back, feedback good/bad is welcome. I won't flame
you. If you're abusive, you'll just end up in my reader kill list
(just three entries so far)
