There was this symphony orchestra conductor who had two women to choose

The other, ugly as a gray November day with half-thawed snow covering the
streets, rat-fur-colored hair which prematurely had begun to go gray, but
she could sing like an angel. "Well," he pondered, "I might as well marry
the one having the same interest as me. Beauty is something that will go
away, but talent is forever." So, he married the ugly one.
Came wedding day, and went.
Next morning he supported his head in the palm of his hand, laying in
bed, watching his bride laying beside him. Hair in thinly, greasy stripes
falling down her cheeks as her watery green eyes stupidly starred back at
him, he uttered: "Sing to me, damn it! Sing!"
