Readme-file for "Jungens bei Sport und Spiel"
Dear readers,
This is the second boy-photobook that I ever bought, the first one was "Jungens aus aller Welt", posted as the AP-JAW series. I'm glad most people don't even know that I did those, they look pretty bad compared to what I post nowadays :-). Maybe some day I'll scan those again.
The reason I waited so long with posting this book is because I had so much more to scan. Also some pictures were very badly printed, scanning those was impossible. I saw another copy somewhere and there the print was just as bad. Another friend told me that his book was printed better, so half of these pictures are scanned from another copy. All in all I'm quite pleased with how they came out, it's a pretty book. If I'm not mistaken Jacques Duval is also the photographer of "Die See der Jungen", posted as the dsdj-series, as far as I know scanned by Downyboy. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
More than half of these pictures are nudes, better check out the indexes first if you don't wanna see nudes. Totally there are 51 pictures, including colorscans from the front and back. I'll post these in three installments. This is the second one.
There are some changes in my plans for next year. Camillo was so friendly to lend me some of his books, so for a while I've lots to scan. Also the owner of "The BOY, a photographic essay" looked a bit hurt when I told him how his book would look after I'm done with it: surely not a pretty sight. I only had to show him what was left of the "Show me" book. Now I'm wondering if there's someone out there who is willing to part with his copy in the knowledge that it will be digitized, I can even promise a copy of all scans on a CD-R, plus what's left of the book. Any volunteers? Please write me!
