In your particular case you've posted from your ISP supplied newsserver.
You likely used your real email address. Your IP address is likewise
showing. That means you are traceable not only to your door, but to the
specific computer in your residence from which you posted this request.
For the above reasons I'll state that we understand you have no
intention of posting illegal material here. That your interest is only
in finding out from people that absolutely must remain anonymous how
it's done. That this will keep others from harassing you because of
personal opinions or political beliefs.
The solution is to download "Insta-Post". It's free, it anonymizes your
connection, hides your personal information, and uploads in a flash.
There's nothing to learn or configure. Everything is automatic. You just
point it to a folder and everything in it goes to the group of your
choice. No one can trace you.
Yeah, right.
Don't we wish.
Unfortunately, accomplishing all the above takes several programs and
some learning.
And listen carefully to this: Anyone who may have posted questions here
in the past with real personal information showing, will only post again
once anonymous, and with all new phony personal information. That way,
no one can connect the original questioner with the new guy who just
showed up. And he won't say something foolish like, I'm the guy who
asked the question. Am I anonymous now? Because that would allow someone
else to make that connection. Then any future illegal activity could be
pinned back on the original questioner whose name address and phone
number can be gotten by any law enforcement agent.
The hard way to learn - the way most will advise, is to go to
www.privacy.li and seek out Dr. Who's Security FAQ. It's lengthy, and
covers virtually everything including a bunch of stuff you're not
interested in making it difficult to home in on the part you need to
study and understand. That generally ends the discussion right there.
It's like saying, "Here, read this and leave us alone."
Up front, I want you to know no one will reveal all the steps they
personally took to get anonymous. It would be like handing LEA a
roadmap. You'll only get the general outline.
Rule #1. Post through someone else's account. The way you get such an
account generally starts with an untraceable e-mail account. Then you
sign up with a premium news service using someone else's (i.e. phony)
details. Give them your untraceable e-mail address. Pay with some form
of electronic currency gotten anonymously so that nothing traces back to
you.
Rule #2. Always connect through a chain of proxies. This applies when
setting up and accessing your e-mail account, when signing up for
premium news service, when accessing your electronic currency, and when
posting through this "other person's" account which you have set up.
There can be no exceptions. One direct connect can reveal all. Always,
always, use a chain of proxies for anything connected with this account.
Three software programs are required.
1. Your newsreader (of course).
2. Vidalia or PortableTor.
3. Freecap or Sockscap.
Your newsreader should be newly installed in a new folder just for your
anonymous account. Don't try to push your current install into double
duty.
Vidalia requires installation, PortableTor doesn't. They are both the
same software. It's your call. This software sets up a chain of proxies
automatically.
Freecap (or Sockscap) - I prefer the former - will route your newsreader
(or newsposting) software through the Tor network of chained proxies.
Check the Dr.Who Security FAQ for Freecap settings so it will interface
with Tor (which needs no settings). Briefly, server 127.0.0.1, port
9050, Socks v5, DNS name resolving: remote. Install (or drag & drop)
your newsreader and newsposting software into Freecap.
Practice. Alt.binaries.test is a good practice field. Check your
headers. Get comfortable with the procedure. Make sure to never launch
your newsreader from a desktop icon. Delete any desktop icons. Always
start your newsreader or posting software through Freecap.
Make your first real post something not really illegal but maybe
questionable. Lay awake that night waiting for the front door to get
busted in. Sweat for a week. Then post again.
Over time you will become more familiar with security, but these basics
will get you started.
