One thing I forgot to mention is the importance of the fountain pen.
Junnosuke is an aspiring writer, as is mentioned in the synopsis in my
previous email.  I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I am
guessing that he had always borrowed a writing implement from Chagawa.
I believe that the pen is symbolic of the recognition of Junnosuke as
a skilled writer.
