Armee de l'Air Jaguars participated in ODS / op Daguet.
Attacks at very low level against heavily defended air bases in Kuwait were
quite dangerous. To illustrate just how low and how dangerous: During the first
raid on Al Jaber AFB in Kuwait by 12 Jaguars, 4 were hit by Iraqi fire.
- pilot 'Charlie' gets a kalashnikov bullet in his head. He'll survive.
- pilot 'Jesus' gets a bullet in his flight controls, but manages to RTB too.
- pilot 'Franck' lands at Al Jubail AFB with one engine on fire.
- pilot 'Mammel' gets a SA-7 in the stbd engine and limps backs to Al Jubail
with one engine on fire and the other engine melted.
