Interesting markings. Anyone know the story behind them?
A quick search online suggests that N5997 was re-assigned from the RNAS to
202 Squadron when the RAF was formed in April 1918. It was apparently shot
down whilst supporting the British raid on Zeebrugge on 18 October 1918.
