 I was sitting about 20 yards away when this happened. It was at
 Duxford's Flying Legends airshow in 2012, and the aircraft involved,
 G-AIYR, was conducting pleasure flights. As you can imagine, the
 passengers vacated the aircraft PDQ. Here's the AAIB report:

 The same aircraft suffered a similar incident in 2005, again at
 Duxford's Flying Legends airshow...and again I was a short distance away.

 In both instances, the wing was soon repaired but Classic Wings, the
 aircraft's owners, have now asked me not to attend their airshows. :D
