Here's an article about the first Arnhem casualties at a site not far
from where I live.:

http://www.paradata.org.uk/content/double-hills-market-garden-memorial

As it states in the article: "At the site are a couple of statues: "The
sculptures were made by former Sapper Roy Cleeves.".

Roy, or Royston to be correct, I knew well and his brother was a good
drinking buddy of mine for many a year.

Interestingly, the first statue was first placed in a graveyard in the
town of Nailsea where Royston lived, but a group of residents objected
to it, claiming that it would frighten the children and it was then
removed to Double Hills.
