 This one is not the Leduc 0.21 of 1953, it is its successor the 0.22 of 1956.
 
 As you pointed out, the 0.21 could not take off on its own and had to be air
 launched for its ramjet to ignite.
 Conversely, the 0.22 could take off on its own power: it had a coaxial turbojet.
 
 As other differences: the 0.21 was designed for subsonic-only research and had
 straight wings.
 The 0.22 had swept wings and meant to go supersonic. (it failed because it
 wasn't area-ruled, and Dassault's Mirage was selected instead)
