Agreed, a lot of irrelevant, encrypted, or just "who cares" stuff
there in A.B.E. It is also active. So?... My approach is to sort by
Author and then delete all but the two or three that are prolific
posters with decipherable headers. In my case, it's RoboCock and
Fr33d0m. Then I quickly scan those authors posts and delete or refile
in another folder for closer scrutiny at some slower future point if
unsure. Some trial and error, and you get down to a few reliable
prefixes like "PML" or yp-pf and that's manageble. Additionally, I
look for recognizable "talent" vs. the more generic bimbos of
industrial porn.
The "new" Agent 8's "MegaJoin" feature is useful here reducing the
days articles to scan to about 200 to 300 in that group for me. I also
filter out some posters entirely as they are encrypted or the like.
MegaJoin is flawed otherwise mangling some posts in the pictures
groups so I turn it off by default, enabling it for the multimedia
groups only. So in the main, ABE gets cleared out every visit except
for the retrievals in progress.
It takes about 15 minutes or so to do this per day. I find it to be
somewhat more fruitful than other approaches in the busy groups. YMMV
