I stumbled across this little utility that consumes the bandwidth of
spam web pages. Once the monthly bandwidth allocation is reached, the
owner will have to shell out more money to cover the exceeded traffic.
This is not a DDOS program. I cannot tell you how effective it is, but
if enough people run this, it may have some effect. Only time will
tell.
The readme.txt file says:
"Leech will download files and images from spamvertised websites
selected by Trusted Retaliators from TheCarPCStore's antispam forum,
the goal being to use up the spammers' bandwidth and increase their
website hosting costs. Note that use of this program DOES NOT
constitute a denial of service attack, as it will stop leeching from
sites unable to maintain connections."
There are two folders in the rar file. One is set up to run on
Dragonara, which hosts nudesandnature.com, frankporn.com
and nakedheavens.com. The other one is set up for Flexwebhosting,
which hosts sweatsweet.com, sexygoa.com, ssteens.com, and
idolbasics.com. Just launch leech.bat in each folder.
Let me know if anyone here thinks this as a usuable tool to fight
spam.
Also, there's a similar program called Spamdot, which can be found on
http://spamdot.sourceforge.net/.
