Mr. T shipped his tapes to Jared back in 2012 and Jared made the transfers back then, storing them on a hard drive which came into my possession after his untimely passing last year. Mr. T asked that JEMS try to make the most of his work from 1981 and 1988, the first of which is this spirited, 31-song set in front of over 60,000 fans.
It's a boisterous, joyous crowd, and you will hear them to be sure but not too close as we've extracted all the close to the mic screams, yells and whistles, Mr. T does a fine job of holding steady and capturing as best he can. The sound is clear, if a little distant, with a great low-end which is a hallmark of the Aiwa CM-30 mic, which packed a lot of punch for its size and cost. Samples provided and artwork included.
This is the first of a handful of Mr. T masters we will post in the coming weeks. Please express your thanks to him for taping the shows and making his masters available to JEMS. Of course we also recognize the work of the late, great Jared Houser for converting the tapes. May he rest in peace.

The Mr. T source appears to be the only source to date for the penultimate Tunnel tour show, don't confuse this as a different source than "Madrid '88" or other circulating tape transfers. All up close audience noises have been removed with the exception of some low level talking too intertwined with the music to extract, it's been cleaned to the point you only get the Spaniards tendency to clap along in the recording.
Mr. T's master also includes and extra 2 minutes and 49 seconds at the start of
"Because The Night" not found on the most commonly circulating version.
An excellent capture by Mr. T and Jared's wonderful raw transfer resulted in a show that was a pleasure to work on and an outstanding final result. We think you will find this a big material upgrade and should elicit multiple future listens.
