This is not what you're looking for, but just as an idea you may care
to pursue, there are several sellers on Sell.com with large
collections of shows from the 50's. One large collection of the Ford
Theater, and another with a Huge collection of variety shows from that
era. Among others. Sellers say they're from 16mm originals and that
the quality is reasonably good. Prices are pretty reasonable, too.
Not freebies from Usenet, but might provide some interesting viewing
of real oldies for a modest price.
