I was being a little sloppy. I saw the post in a.b.e, but I find the
fastest and best .nzb creation is at http://www.nzbindex.nl/ ,so I searched
there, where I could have grabbed the sample and the main movie in separate
.nzb's. The reason "sample" is in the .nzb filename is that it is the first
header of the post. Filesize is the best guide. I like to execute the .nzb
as "mark for later download" (in NewsRover), then cancel all download marks.
From there I can pick out whatever I want from the headers, including .jpg
etc.
Also worth remembering that you can download and play a single rar, or the
first few rars, by invoking the "save broken" feature of winrar. The result
will be playable, so if there's no sample, you can make your own.
If it weren't for this sh**t, I would never have learned computing. I'm 72
y.o., and it doesn't look like rocket science to me any more. ;-)
